Turbocharger Inspection

A turbocharger passing oil sends it straight through to the filter, and sticking VNT vanes starve the engine of the air it needs to burn cleanly. Both fill a filter quickly, and both are on the list of things worth checking while the filter is off. Checking them is work on the vehicle.

What we can do instead

Shaft play, VNT actuation and boost integrity are assessed on the vehicle by your own workshop. We clean the filter.

  • We clean the filter that oil carry-over or lost boost has loaded
  • A filter cleaned while the turbo still passes oil will load again
  • Shaft play, VNT and boost testing is your workshop
  • Ask us and we can suggest a workshop that carries it out
