That distance changes what makes sense: for one private car it usually is not worth the drive, and this page says so plainly. Why Mumbai vehicles block filters
Mumbai gives a diesel particulate filter close to the worst road conditions that exist anywhere. Peak-hour average speeds in single digits mean the exhaust spends most of its life well below the temperature passive regeneration needs, and an active regeneration that the ECU starts on the Western Express Highway is routinely interrupted by the next standstill before it completes. Interrupted regenerations are worse than none at all: each one leaves partly burnt residue behind. The pattern we see from Mumbai vehicles is very consistent, which is a filter that has been quietly loading for a long time on a car whose owner has never once seen a warning light until it goes into limp mode.

Four hours each way, and Mumbai has DPF cleaners of its own. If you are a private owner with one car, use one of them: we are not going to pretend a day of driving is the sensible answer. This page is for two other cases. Filters sent in on their own, removed by a local garage and returned cleaned with the measurements, which is what most Mumbai work here actually is. And fleets already running the Nashik corridor, whose vehicles pass the workshop anyway, where a scheduled slot costs no extra travel at all.

No filter is quoted on sight. It is tested, cleaned if the test says cleaning will help, and tested again, and you get both numbers. When the measurement says the substrate is beyond saving, you are told that instead of being sold a clean that will not hold.
